Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, is a skin rejuvenation technique utilizing a sterile device equipped with fine needles. Slender needles gently penetrate beneath the skin’s surface, creating micro-wounds and micro-injuries. These microscopic wounds trigger the body’s innate defense mechanisms, prompting the production of new skin cells, capillaries, and collagen for the purpose of repairing the damage. The natural restorative process results in a more youthful appearance due to the increased collagen synthesis. This will sit on the skin for 15 minutes. During this time, you'll experience red light therapy along with your choice of a relaxing hand, foot, or scalp massage. Your skin will then be cleansed and prepped with an alcohol pad. A topical serum will be applied to the skin in each section to be treated. The microneedling appointment typically takes 45 minutes to complete (including numbing time), depending on the treatment area. Your skin may be pink or red in appearance, similar to a sunburn, for hours following the treatment. The treated skin may feel warm, tight, or itchy. This should subside in 12–48 hours. Clients are required to complete the Microneedling Intake & Consent Form prior to their appointment.
